We bought the oven just before lockdown with our original idea to host jazz and pizza evenings.  Ironically due to Covid-19, as we can’t have live music gatherings, we are hosting pop-up woodsmoke kitchens cooking Paella, slow cooked brisket, pork belly and so much more.  At the moment we have beef and chicken bone broths, slow dry roasting shitake mushrooms and onions cooking for tonight’s smoke  & noodles AKA Ramen! The Pro Woodfired Oven Heritage

Horatio learned his trade making traditional clay bakery ovens which had a cooking cycle of around 8 hours and reaching temperatures as high as 1100ºC. Lying at the heart of the success of our ovens is the careful selection of clays with high refractory qualities and the hand-made ‘beehives’ that sit inside each Pro Woodfired oven outer shell.

We source our Pro Ovens from a family owned business in Portugal. Established in 1945 by Horácio Teixeira Pinto, the business still remains in the family and the ovens are still made using the same techniques that was perfected over 70 years ago.

I’ve really enjoyed this oven. I use it at least 3 times a week. It’s become a great addition to the Kingy family. If I’m not using it my sons are. Rock on, it’s a good’un. This is a great oven – the best pizzas this side of Naples!
